Description
Small piece of decoration resembling a tarot card and inspired by old botanical engravings. Made on an oak wood, worked and pyrographed by me by hand. Signed on the back. To be placed alongside an old book with a used binding on a dusty library shelf, or even to use as a paperweight!
Dimensions: about 10 X 6 cm ~ Thickness: about 0.5 cm.
The shades of the wood and the pyrography may therefore be slightly different than in the photos but don’t worry, its give off the same aura of mystery and are all one of a kind. Other plants are possible on request, do not hesitate to contact me.
ACHILLEA = Achille millefeuille
Achille Millefeuille has a reputation for healing powers and dispelling the forces of evil. Achilles would have used it to clean the wounds of his companion. In Ireland, yarrow was used by Gaelic witches to gain the power to fly when wearing their hat, Yarrag’s Cappeen. Yarrow is powerful at relieving menstruation and was invaluable in the projection of spells. Yarrow is a « fairy grass » and in the Western Isles its leaves when held in front of the eyes provide « second sight » or « vision of both worlds ».
