Description
Unique piece of art and decoration, handmade in Normandy, titled, signed and dated on the back ~ Box in solid walnut wood (carved and hollowed out in the mass of wood and not glued, no plating) inspired by Bayeux Cathedral (Normandy).
The motifs are 12th – 15th century, taken from the exterior and interior of the cathedral in a unique composition.
Dimensions (approximately): internal depth: 4.5 cm, height of the wooden box: 9 cm, width: 9 cm. Total height: 9 cm.
This small box is a decorative piece in its own right, and it will be ideal for storing your prettiest rings, earrings, or many other precious little treasures. It can also be used as a wedding setting.
Local wood: walnut from Normandy, not from deforestation, pyrographed and hand painted both inside and out.
Precious gemstone: cabochon of a genuine blue sapphire certified from an ethical and eco-responsible source (fairtrade and fairmined) from a small artisanal mine in Sri Lanka.
Non-toxic pigments, a technique similar to that of illuminating. The two parts (cover and box) fit into each other. The interior is also decorated and covered with an old midnight blue velvet, mottled by me. Inlay of bronze balls that I restored, from the foundry and found with a former cabinetmaker from the Faubourg Saint Antoine de Paris retired in Normandy today.
Unique piece of handcrafted craftsmanship for many hours, in Normandy in my workshop ~ Free shipping for France ~ Payments in several installments without possible costs: contact me.
The materials used are as ecofriendlies as possible: wood naturally treated with a fungicide and a natural anti-parasite (traditional mixture in Scandinavia of northern pine sap and plant distillates). Use of a sourced organic resin. Natural pigments, fabric and heathered and upgraded bronze, ethical and eco-responsible gemstone.
