Description
Unique piece, handmade in Normandy (France).
Handcrafted knife :french medlar handle (rare wood to find) was carved by me with vegetable arabesques and blade, in Swedish steel with high corrosion resistance and coming from a steelworks making efforts at the level environmental and research, forged by my partner, Benjamin ALBRYCHT from La Forge d’Asgeir.
It is a small knife which will be very useful for you, whether for a walk for your wild pickings, for picnics, at the table, in the kitchen … It will correspond perfectly to a small hand for a perfect grip.
On the blank, the blade is rough from forge.
This one measures 6.8 cm long by 1.9 cm wide and 2 mm thick. The handle measures approximately 8.8 cm.
Made by « four hands » for many hours, in Normandy in our workshop. All the materials used are as ecofriendly as possible and the wood is treated naturally with a fungicide and a natural anti-pest (traditional mixture in Scandinavia of northern pine sap and plant distillates), a patina with pigments natural, an absolutely non-toxic natural varnish and a bio-sourced resin.
Care instructions: after washing, wipe your knife directly with a clean cloth. Do not let it soak in water. To nourish the handle, you can use a natural oil such as linseed oil to apply with a soft cloth and to sharpen the blade you can use a natural water stone (you can buy these items if necessary on Benjamin’s ETSY website: https://www.etsy.com/fr/shop/AsgeirCraft ). To clean the blade, you can use a little alcohol and rub gently.
